Date: August 15th
Time: 12pm-2pm
Instructor: Amy Datema- Amy's love of watching fashion designing reality shows led her to start sewing 12 years ago. She learned the basics from online classes, YouTube, reading any sewing books she could find, and making a lot of mistakes to learn from. Amy loves to refashion thrift store clothes and work with denim. She is passionate about helping others start their sewing journey! When she is not sewing, she is spending time with her family, playing with her dog Otis, volunteering at her church, Lamont CRC, and traveling with her husband.
In this class, you will learn how to:
-
The Refashion Blueprint: How to map out and transform a structured button-down shirt into a breezy off-the-shoulder top.
-
Custom Fit Basics: How to properly measure yourself for a comfortable, flattering fit.
-
Elastic Casings: The secret to creating secure, clean gather lines for shoulders or waistlines.
-
Design Customization: Explore endless style options! Learn how to shorten the shirt, alter the sleeves, add optional shoulder straps, or try your hand at waist shirring.
-
Bonus Zero-Waste Project: Use your leftover elastic and the original shirt collar to stitch a matching, cute dog collar!
