Welcome to Family Sewing!
We're more than a sewing shop — we're a community hub for sewists of all skill levels in Grandville, Michigan and the surrounding West Michigan area. Whether you're a seasoned quilter or embroiderer, a beginner just learning to thread a needle, or someone who needs their beloved machine back in working order, Family Sewing is here for you.
Our Story
We are a family-owned business and our story started in 1983 when Larry French Sr and Sue opened the first Family Sewing inside the JoAnn Fabrics on Alpine Ave! Larry Jr and Candy came onboard in 1987 and became the owners in 2015, after years of training and working at the store with Larry's dad, the BEST mentor and boss. Our daughter, Heather, also works with us as store manager and keeps the family theme going!
We are happy to carry machines that we love, to work with a great team, and to give our customers the care they deserve! When we aren't working, we like hiking and playing with our dogs!
